Reading fan fiction felt like going from seeing in black and white to colour. I realized there was a spectrum of experiences I’d never read about. It was what made me realize I’m queer. Everyone should have the chance to have that moment.

I love that the romance genre is giving people opportunities to write their stories and connect with their people. That’s what I’m here to help you do.

Having been immersed in such diverse stories, I’m passionate about…

helping people tell stories that are often overlooked in traditional media,
collaborating with authors who tell stories from the heart, and
enhancing and amplifying authors’ voices.

So now my work is about…

getting to the heart of story and character,
asking probing questions that make you think more deeply about your plot and characters,
spotting connections you may not be able to see, and
guiding you towards new ideas and spaces.

I’ve held numerous positions at that library, and I still work the occasional shift when I return to my hometown.
The perks of working at a library are first dibs on new, undiscovered gems.
When COVID-19 allows us to return to in-person activities, I’ll be headed back to choir and singing with my family!
Applied linguistics focuses on the structures at play when people communicate. I learned much about sociocultural and systemic norms and how they affect the way people use language!
It’s endlessly fascinating!
